Since the outbreak of Covid-19...

We continuously have been monitoring the local and global impacts of the pandemic and are updating our policies and actions accordingly. As a result, our number one priority is the safety of our staff and guests. For that reason, we have taken the necessary steps to ensure a safe reopening, and we want to walk you through these steps:

Certification

Firstly, since the beginning of June, the Secretary of Tourism of Mexico launched a mandatory certification to ensure that all tour businesses complied with the new health protocols for reopening. Beach Bum Cozumel is now fully certified and complies with all the sanitary and health procedures as established by the Secretary of Tourism, which means that our staff is certified and trained accordingly to maintain the highest levels of hygiene in the workplace and throughout the execution of our tours.

This certification complies with the highest levels of sanitary protocols approved by the WHO (World Health Organization) and the CDC (Centers for Disease Control) in the United States. To read more about this certification, click here

Sanitary Protocol

We have implemented a cohesive sanitary protocol to maintain a safe and virus-free environment. Our measures include the following:

For Electric Bike rentals and tours:

  • We will disinfect All surfaces throughout the store hourly and after each client's visit
  • We will provide guests with antibacterial gel (70% alcohol-based) upon reception
  • As a state requirement, all guests must have their temperature checked upon reception
  • Staff must properly wear facemasks throughout the execution of the tour and within the work area
  • We have updated our check-in process to ensure a "zero contact" procedure

For Fishing, Diving, and Snorkeling Activities:

  • Face masks or bandanas are mandatory for staff and guests at all times while on the boat
  • Rental snorkel and scuba equipment will be sanitized and disinfected with a medical-grade antiseptic before each use
  • Disposable mouthpieces will be available for purchase
  • All Surfaces aboard will be sanitized daily before guests arrival and continuously throughout the tour
  • Groups aboard will be reduced, and seats will be marked allowing a healthy distance between each guest
  • Our instructors are updated with the latest CPR guidelines by DAN and have completed the First Response Airborne Pathogen training course

Reduced number of participants

To reduce the risk of agglomerations, we have decided to limit our tour group to 12 people max. Every time we exceed that number, we will open a new group and send in a new guide. We love small group tours anyway and now more than ever.
